Patience! How we hate the unexpected delay, meeting such events, or non-events, with a sinking heart and a desperation to escape. We fret and worry about "wasting" time in line, in a traffic jam, or in some other unwanted situation, but the worrying itself wastes the time. We hurry to save time, but the hurrying itself kills our time. Patience, on the other hand, enriches time, allowing us to breathe, appreciate our surroundings, and open to the inner depths.

how wonderful this paragraph is. i'm such a lucky person to be able to read this somewhere on the net ( sorry for not remembering the source). lately, i felt that i'm about to lose my temper. i hate waiting. to me it is as difficult as working on physics. but what can i say, there are plenty of things to wait recently. for example, the LO meeting. we were expected to be on time. always. i tried not to be late for every meeting. do you know what happen? many friends came late. almost in every meeting. to make it even worse, there seemed no consequences for those who come late. poor me.

Futsal tragedy

a shocking news was in my SMS inbox yesterday at 12 am. a son of a friend in SMP N 4 Solo got an accident while playing Futsal. he was in DR. Moewardi hospital, at its ICU to be exact. he suffered a coma because of serious brain injury. at that time i got into a speechless moment. how could this accident happen? i thought playing this game is supposed to be fun. don't you think so?

but then another breath-taking news appeared late in the evening at 6 pm, telling me that he had passed away.

just now, i attended the funeral.

to my surprise, he was not a boy. he was a university student in UNS faculty of Law ( no wonder there were many university students there...Ping!!).

someone told me that his death was actually not at 6 pm but at 8 or 9 pm. another friend sitting next to me said that after his death, his mother wanted to keep the medical equipments attached to him ( i can fully understand this.) what so special about this was that when his girlfriend came to see his body, he became alive again for at least 15 minutes as if he wanted to give time to his girlfriend to say good bye. (Pheew....)

on the way home, i tried to figure out all this. i wonder what futsal is. i really need to know this thing. so i search futsal in wikipedia. and i learn that actually this game is fun, yet dangerous. please take a look to this video below.

to my surprise, someone paid a visit to this blog yesterday. someone who i thought (used to...heheh) impossible to pay , even just a little, attention to an ordinary indonesian like me. thanks bang Humphrey Samosir...!

this surprise gives me the new spirit to blogging...to reactivate my blogging habit...hehehhe (as usual, i need a kind of encouragement to do things when i get bored or tired of it):

another surprise i got from my student, well...used to be my student, Reiner. yesterday i met him in... guess what... HIS house! it's a long story actually....i'll tell you in another posting ( when i'm free...heheh). the point is that from now on we'll be in touch. i'm really happy for you, Reiner! you look bigger, taller and more mature...hehehe

surprise...surprise...tomorrow i'm going to have the last weekly-meeting for LO. finally we'll have the real training next october. i'm looking forward to learn thousands of new things. i can't wait to challenge my own patience and "ikhlas" feelings. btw, these two things were actually my main reason to join in the LO WHC. hope to see the outcome of my own challenges...hehehhe

this is one of the results of our photo session in Planet photo, Solo Grand Mall, in one perfect day (for photo session...hehehe) in September 2008. We were very excited at that time because the box was about to explode since there were 9 of us (plus one extra-large creature sitting right in the middle...it's me, btw:p ).

today is a very special day. it's 080808 day! many people try to date this as their wedding date. One of my friends at SMPKK, Bu Lisa TU, is one of them. She is going to have the party/ reception today at 1 p.m in Sragen. I'm really happy for her. May she have a nice and wonderful wedding. May she live a happy marriage life. And may she raise beautiful kids! Congratulations, BU LISA!!

Play Truant...NOT !!

It’s been so long since I had my last post. I’ve been very busy trying to make myself comfortable in my new place, SMP N 4 Ska. This matter took longer time than I expected. New things..new people…new attitude…new “culture”…new habit…and many unexpected “ difficulties” and easy-things altogether…*_*

Last Tuesday was a hard day for me.
I learned a simple matter through a hard way. You know, I used to tell my students to always be honest no matter how. Well…at least at tests. But, since last Tuesday I think I couldn’t say that again. I’ll tell you what happened.

It was actually a big mistake I’ve made. I didn’t have the gut to say no to my friends’ will to play truant on a test. When they first asked me to help them for the test (by telling them the answers with my fingers), I said “No”. But, things got different on the test day. They were kind of forced me to do so. They kept intimidate me to “help” them. 10 minutes before the test, a group of “friends” came to me and reminded me of my pathetic “job”. I just smiled.

2 minutes before the test started, the same group came close to me and told me to remember my “ job”. Can you imagine my feelings at that time? This thing they asked for was against my whole-life-belief. Me, who used to adore honesty (FYI, I always write “Honesty is a Virtue” at the bottom of the page for every test paper i made at school)…had to play truant in a test!#@%$# What an irony!!!

But, looking at their faces…their wrinkles on the face…and neck…hehehe....I realized that they were hopeless. A serious moral conflict hit me.

Apart from the fact that I began to realize they are not true friends, I decided to help them. If playing truant in the test is what it takes, then…shall be it.

I spent the 2-hours “meaningless” test successfully. Even though I knew that my TOEIC score wouldn’t be good enough (I used to get 910 once, 920 once, 855 and 895), I tried to do my best.

It seemed easy and simple, right?!

Absolutely not!

I paid my mistake in a hard way too. I couldn’t sleep at night. I kept feeling guilty and “small” at the same time. I thought about what I’m going to say to my students who play truant on test.

Right now, I’m healing myself with a self-healing process found by…me!...hehehe…
I make jokes out of it. Hope it can really help me through my down times.

wow...Iron Man the movie is fantastic~!
This is exactly the kind of movie that i like, Science Fiction with the perfect combo of 30:70 for Science and Fiction...heheheh..

i really think that i should go to the movie and see this movie once again. this time, Grand Studio wouldn't be good enough. I need a bigger and more hi-tech theater. something like in Amplas, stands for Ambarukmo Plasa, in Yogyakarta. Care to join? Just let me know, OK?

yesterday at Grand studio (SGM), i watched a very romantic film, P.S. I Love You. it was released in 2007 but very interesting to watch over and over. i've never imagined that Hillary Swank can be a lady like. have you seen her performance in Million Dollar Baby?

if you have, then you know what i mean. i kind of feel surprise to see her new look. i guess there are still hope for those who do appear boys like for you girls around the world...heheheh.

back to the topic, P.S. I Love You is a romantic movie about a grieving young widow discovers that her late husband has left her a list of tasks revealed in 10 messages, delivered anonymously, intended to ease her out of grief and transition her to a new life...pretty romantic right?*_^
it's almost impossible for the real life, you know.. hmmm, let me rephrase it. it's is IMPOSSIBLE to happen, i'm sure.

where in this world will there be a man with this amazing thought? i guess none!

so, if anyone of you is dying to see such a perfect gentleman, rent the movie and watch it. i promise that you'll just enjoy the movie as much as i did.

today is another boring day...weks$#%^@&*&^
fortunately, pak aris ( a friend in SMP Kalam Kudus) gave me a nice little package of corel work on some teachers in smpkk. it seems to me that he felt a little bit, if not much, sad that those teachers in the picture have left, and or about to leave smpkk. anyway, thank you so much for this surprise Pak Aris. you are the BesT!

there is pak kristian, a physics teacher, left smpkk to continue his study ( some people say that he will return to KK eventually). Pak Jarwo and Bu Siti, who left for about a year ago, to be PNS. They are now teaching for SMAN 4 Ska and SMPN 24 respectively. i guess they are happy rightnow. i hope so.

and there are Bu Kris ( SMP Kristen 4), Pak Dodo (SMPN 5), Bu Ratna (SMPN 12), Bu Kinkin (SMP WW 2), Bu Sep (SMPN 7), ME (metty, SMPN 4), and Pak Basuki (SMPN 4). i do hope that we'll be much more happier in the furture. because i think that's what life is all about. life is about happiness. don't you think so?
